What’s In Season

Take a look at What’s In Season this month at the Markets!

What’s In Season

FRUIT

MANGOES: Queensland mangoes are in full swing! Great KP varieties - beautifully sweet and ripe even when the skin still shows a touch of green.

TROPICAL FRUIT: Papayas are excellent value and taste great. Watermelons are refreshing, and pineapples are delicious (though not the cheapest this week).

GRAPES: The Australian grape season is just getting started - still early, but quality is improving week by week.

CITRUS: We’re in the final weeks for mandarins. Satsumas are still eating surprisingly well for this stage of the season.

BERRIES: Victorian strawberries have begun! Raspberries and blackberries are also of good quality and good value.

STONEFRUIT: Australian stonefruit is arriving - yellow nectarines are the standout pick right now.

APPLES & PEARS: Go for late-season varieties like Granny Smith and Pink Lady for the best crunch and flavour.

KIWI: Australian kiwifruit are in season and tasting great.

VEGETABLES

TOMATOES: Cherry truss tomatoes are great value and tasting better each week.

ASPARAGUS: Still flushing with plenty of fresh, tender bunches available.

BEANS & PEAS: Broad beans are in season and looking good.

AVOCADO: Western Australian avocados are in peak season — creamy and full of flavour.

RECOMMEND: Keep an eye out for beautiful WA eggplants, crisp lettuce, cucumbers, washed Dutch creams, and fresh kale.

SCARCE: Potatoes and sweet potatoes are in short supply due to weather events in South Australia — the country’s main potato region. Corn and broccoli have also been affected by recent hailstorms.

FLOWERS: Local blooms are shining this week - look for stocks, ranunculus, and waxflower.
